Thirsty Bear is a Helsinki-based wine agency that focusses on the new world with a few special exceptions. We love independent, family owned vineyards and organically farmed grapes. Our goal is to bring more wine with character made by passionate winemakers to the people of Finland.
Founded in 2015, the initial focus was iconic vineyards in Australia and New Zealand. It took around 5 years to improve this part of Alko’s selection and you can now find classic names like Leeuwin Estate, Tyrrell’s and Te Mata on store shelves across Finland. Our attention turned to the US around 2020 when we noticed a lack of premium Californian wine in Alko. Since then, we have launched famous vineyards such as Au Bon Climat, DuMOL and Inglenook in Finland.
