Blue Pyrenees Estate was established in 1963 by the French company Remy Martin, and was among the modern Australian wine industry’s first ventures into cool climate viticulture. The 150 hectare Estate is located next to the Pyrenees mountain range in Western Victoria. The gravel beds on the valley floor are similar to the gravels of Bordeaux and the south of France and are, not surprisingly, best suited to Bordeaux and Rhône varietals.
